Wifi Cafe EtiquitteHey laptoppers — there are more of us out there then ever. It's important to be considerate of other patrons in the cafe, not to mention the cafe owners who are providing the nice environment. Below is some basic WiFi cafe etiquette I think can benefit us all. This is a work in progress — please provide your own suggestion too! 1. Make periodic purchasesAim for every 45 minutes or so. 2. Mix it upIf you're spending a lot of time in cafes, don't make it the same cafe everyday. 3. Always tip the staffThis should go without saying, but I think it's extra-important if you're there for an extended period of time utilizing the WiFi. It would be great if laptop users became synonymous with generous tippers in the minds of cafe staff and owners. 4. Take the cell phone outsideThis isn't an office. None of us want it to be an office. Take the cell phone outside. And if you're making or receiving a lot of phone calls, the cafe probably isn't the right space for you. |
