1.Banana Nut Oatmeal (480 calories)

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup low-fat milk
1/2 cup water
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 banana, mashed
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts

PREPARATION

Combine milk, water and salt in a saucepan
until almost boiling. Add oats , stirring, until creamy, 1 to 2 minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in mashed banana and honey
sprinkle with walnuts and serve.

2. Yogurt and Apple Oatmeal (470 calories)

INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoons of honey
1 apple
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts

PREPARATION

Combine yogurt, oats, honey in a Bowl and Mix Well
Top with apple cubes and walnuts

3.PEANUT BUTTER OATMEAL SMOOTHIE (420 calories)

PREPARATION

1/4 cup oats
1 whole banana
1/2 cup low-fat milk
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter

Add all of the ingredients to a blender.
Blend for 30 seconds and stir.
Blend to 60 seconds.
Pour into a glass and garnish oats if desired.

  1. The first recipe looked fantastic and healthy.  However, did anyone notice the nutritional value for sugar was 39g!!!  The DAILY allowance for an adult is 25g ….well above recommended levels in just this one meal.  Sorry….not for someone looking to reduce sugar intake.  Cut the honey and it will reduce it by 17g, but still the max allowance for the day at 25g.

  4. Hmmmmm. Am surprise because this is exactly what I eat every morning. mine is oat meal, banana,apple and skimmed milk. is also doing wonders for my skin.
