Have you ever had to speak in front of people either for a project, presentation or interview and completely bombed because your nerves got the best of you?

Public speaking can be scary as hell! Mostly because it’s the fear of failure and rejection wrapped into one with a little “try not to sound stupid” to top it all off.

I remember one time in particular looking at the syllabus for one of my college classes and realizing “Wait. We’re gonna have to actually speak in front of the whole class? Nah. I’m good.”

I was dreading having to get up in front of the room.

But it was one of my required classes and there was no turning back.

When I got up in front of the room for my first speech, my hands were shaking and so was my voice. I thought “Great, here’s a bunch of people who are going to judge me while I
try not to sound like an idiot, isn’t this fun!”

After I got through it I opened my eyes and realized “Hey, I’m alive!” but I hated that fact that I let fear and nervousness hold me back and stop me from really being able to speak in front of people.

Then earlier this year I found myself in another class where I had to deliver another speech with almost no prep.

But I was determined to not let those nerves get the best of me.

As scary as speaking in front of people can be, in whatever scenario, it’s such an essential skill to have and fear to conquer which is why I wanted to share what helped me take in on in this week’s video!

Watch it here:

  1. I have a presentation for english tomorrow and I also have to sing in spanish class a song that we had to write ourselves, my anxiety is literally reaching an all time high hahahahhhaaahahahh

  2. I have to do my French speaking exam in front of my class. Knowing my stuff isn’t easy when he gives 10 mins ON THE DAY and you’re not allowed to take your books home the lesson before

  3. School Christmas Concert in a few days…I have to introduce a song before we all sing it…I only have to speak for like, only a minute, but I'm still SUPER nervous..

  4. OK I just did my presentation and tried to follow the steps you said here and it was aweeeesoommeee I wasn't so nervous and shaky as usual and tried to act confident. Got an A

  5. I know the best thing to do to help fix ur nervousness is to try and go first because the longer u wait the more u think about so the more u become scared shakey and nervous

  6. I sadly have to give a 8 presentation with two other people and it’s eating me up inside. Can’t seem to stop being nervous. Even though some times I’m a chatter box with certain people but standing up there I feel so insecure about how I look. I’m super pale and my face gets bright red.

  7. I'd actually suggest that you fuck up one presentation to the max, making it the most humiliating thing ever on purpose. Because even though that may give you a bad grade (if you're in school, that is), but every time you need to deliver one after that, you can think about how no matter what you do wrong this time, it's not going to be as bad as the one you fucked up, therefore boosting your confidence by a margin.

  8. Im about to Graduate and i have to speak in front if a lot of people and I’m getting a lot of anxiety speaking in front of people

  9. i have to dance and act in front of my whole school i’m a freshman and if i fuck this up ima be fucked for the next 3 years

  10. I've been making gameplay videos w my voice for about a year and im a nervous wreck when talking in front of acual people i make amazing videos people who subscribe to my channel love my content but irl I just can't give a speech where im not nervous af im one of the worst stage fright ppl in the world videos don't help… 🙁

  11. I have to speak for two minutes in front of my class about a report we did, and then we have to share a video we made, a commercial…. IM SO NERVOUS BUT WE ARE PRESENTING IN THREE WEEKS!!! I start shaking so much that I can't even open my mouth

  12. The thing that annoys me most about public speaking is that I'm actually not that afraid of it anymore, but my body doesn't seem to get that. I always get into that "You can do this, it's not that big of a deal" mentality, but no matter how much I tell that to myself, my body still goes crazy. Even when I'm just raising my hand to say something in class, even if I'm not afraid of it, my voice and my hands get shaky and my heart starts pounding like crazy. It's like I don't wanna be nervous about it but my body just holds me back lmao
