There are two hormones. There is one that triggers fat burning and the other trigger fat storing. In this video, Dr. Berg discusses how to trigger the fat burning hormone by eating certain foods in your diet.

  1. I have been doing your program for 2 months. I just had blood work done. Cholesterol is down but uric acid was up. Thank you for the video today, it explained why, now I know what to do to get it down. Thank you for the information you provided.

  2. Dr Burg, I love ur videos…i lost so far in 4 month a total of 18Kg by reducing carbs and fasting… This an old video of you , however I’m more aligned with your new videos

  3. I'm doing amazing on this 'diet', literally never lost weight like this without exercise. Ran into a few issues though. I was eating CARROTS as a vegetable, and honey. Didn't think of the massive glycemic index of both, and yes, like clockwork they both were slowing me down. Potassium and Salt is another big deal. There were a couple times where I felt like I was going to keel over and pass out. Didn't watch my potassium, salt, water, B vitamins.

  4. This vid is out of date. Dr Berg has changed his views on breakfast , it's now don't have breakfast if you're not hungry.

  5. Thank you for all your help, I have been doing the Keto Life eatting plan now for just over two months and have lost over 40 pounds. I am now a wait I have not seen for 25 years. I am no longer taking INSULIN and am hoping to get off my blood pressure and cholesterol medications as well. You and Dr. Jason Fung have educated me in a way that makes the medical field dislike me as a patient. however I am healthy happy and living a better life.

  6. I have done some more reading since viewing this video and for me, I can't do this diet. I do agree about limiting processed carbs as they are polluting. I personally cannot do without my carbs. I do think this diet works, especially for diabetics (see The Complete Book of Fasting) written by a medical Dr. But I have lost 35 pounds following a diet that includes all 5 food groups. Also you can take coconut oil with a meal and it will digest fats. Because it is a medium chain fatty acid it has different properties. Dr Bruce Fife has written a book on it and also on coconut ketosis. But for me, I am keeping my carbs. I need them for energy. I tried adkins years ago and it made me too weak.
