Dr. Berg explains what is happening when the body “burns” fat. The body stores fat in a liquid state until it is released and converted via the liver. What triggers fat to be converted? A special enzyme called “lipase”. And what triggers lipase?
1) An absence of insulin.
2) Fasting (intermittent fasting).
3) Adrenaline via exercise.
4) Growth hormone.
5) Thyroid hormone.

Find out in this video how they can trigger fat burning and also why a low-carb diet, low-fat diet, vegetarian diet doesn’t burn fat because they all avoid handling a very important element burning fat… insulin! Watch the complete video for the data.

  1. It’s all about how much you eat so you’re caloric intake is the king determinant if you lose weight or not. You eat too much fat in a Keto diet you don’t lose weight. You eat too much carbs you gain weight. Simple as that. Now some people might be hormonally sensitive towards different macronutrients but at the end it all boils down to you’re calories.

  2. I’m a little confused I stopped the video to read more of the definition in the medial term. But it also saying people with diabetes have no insulin so why should insulin be absent if that’s a diabetic sign as well

  3. How can I get lean eating fat?
I mean, it seems that I am loossing muscle mass and my skin keeps thic with a lot of fat…
My weight is falling down but it looks like all I am doing is keep the fat and throwing away any muscle mass that I had…

  4. woahaa , :-p
below there that book also says "insulin promotes glucose transport into fat cells IN THE EXACT SAME WAY THAT IT PROMOTES GLUCOSE TRANSPORT INTO MUSCLES CELLS" , now Thats one more anomaly saying insulin resistance is not clearly understood by humans. Or else try making fat cells insulin resistant.

  5. If all this information were true then we would see a lot of vegans having problems losing weight, but i see the complete opposite, a lot of them them drop a lot of weight once they removed animal products, specially frutarians, they're so thin.

  6. ،honestly this is the best life style. I have lost 30lbs in 3 months doing keto diet and just walking at work. Now I started working out more and it's amazing how people get shocked how good it works. I am now hooked on this. Thank you. My husband is the one who introduce me to this

  7. Wow ! This is an extremely important and well done video. I added it to my favorites list so I can watch it again and again.
Thank You for taking the time to explain.

  8. Hello Dr. Berg. I am a huge fan and I seriously love all your videos. Your channel is just simply amazing and full of great info! I have lost so much weight with just ketogenics diet and the intermittent fasting that I just can't thank you enough!
Now I am somewhere where the internet is, well, right above dial-up on good days so I can not watch your videos as often any more. I also can't control all that I eat any more just the amount and amount of times I eat so naturally I have hit a wall in my fat loss. Is there anything you can recommend?

  9. BCAA's & "IF" —- Please do a video of taking BCAA's supplements before fasted weight training/cardio to prevent muscle loss and whether or not damages the effects of "IF" and fat loss

  10. Dr. Berg., How does the estrogen hormones trigger lipase? Specifically for HRT after menopause. Also, I'm sure premenopausal women would be interested in the answer for their naturally occurring estrogen. This would be of the greatest help if you could enlighten me. Thank you
