Dr. Berg talks about why it takes so long to lose weight during in menopause. It’s not just weight, its atrophy. Menopausal atrophy is adrenal stress. This is higher amounts of cortisol. Atrophy is a major problem as you are losing muscle fiber and increase inflammation. This can be frustration because you may be doing more exercise and eating better than those around you, but still things are slow, however, the problem may not be all weight – it could be atrophy. This is called menopausal atrophy.

Make sure you do not over train with exercise.
Ensuring your sleep is better.
Inactivity is another problem.

FROM A GEORGEOUS LOOKING WOMAN SHE BECOME SOMEONE UNRECOGNISEABLE SINCE SHE HAS THIS STAY SLIM onchocolate

  2. I was trying to take your quiz D r Berg but it won't let me go past the current/goal weight. Is that because I'm in the UK?

  3. I met with a young trainer (young to mid twenties) when I was in my 40s and she worked me so hard my first time to meet with her that my chest felt like it was going to explode and I was going to die! I told her my age, I had 4 children and though I used to work out every day and ran 2 miles a day, that was before I had my children. I had my first child at 32. So yes it had been a while. She just looked at me like what was my problem, what was the matter with me? So I went as hard as I could until it felt like my chest would explode. I felt so nauseous I knew I would throw up (thankfully I didn't). She had me convinced that something must be wrong with me. I made an appointment with my doctor for a complete physical. I was certain she was going to have to refer me to a cardiologist. She checked me over, laughed and said she wished her other patients were half as healthy I was and that young trainer needed to back off! My goodness, she told me, you are in your 40s and you have 4 children!! It was the voice of reason coming from a practical woman (who happened to be a MD) than a young yahoo. Yes Dr Berg is right, if you haven't worked out in years it might take a while to get to the level where you feel you should be. I have learned this from experience. I appreciate good doctors who really care. Thank you Dr Berg!

  4. omg YES!! i so relate to this, THANK YOU Dr.Berg for this. I see the fat on the rest of my body melting away and the underlying muscles toning up, but the belly fat and visceral fat in my middle is stubbornly sagging and atrophy of musculature and collagen? that used to hold up my organs is hanging. i am doing IF as much as possible and am down to 2 meals, and a tiny snack in my eating window, supplementing and getting good quality sleep. about to add bicycling and trampoline to it all.

  5. I took a saliva test and it said I have low progesterone, so I started taking life-flo cream with natural progesterone. Is this ok to take?

  6. Luv Dr.berg fr so much valuable n scientific knowledge to share.god bless u fr making us aware of genuine things fr our life

  7. I was on super strictly the keto for 9 months and lost exactly zero pounds….

I continue now but am more lax, ie allow myself more fruit. One change I did make which helped was to consume kale skakes: I have no idea why, but 10 days after beginning these shakes I woke up one morning and I had later ONE DRESS SIZE. I am not kidding!

I have adrenal and thyroid body type and am in my second year of menopuase. Can't exercise much due to serious injury 3 years ago…

  8. Dr.Berg I have no words for how grateful I am that u exist and are doing these vids. NO WORDS WILL SUFFICE !! THANK U SOOOOOOO MUCH !!

  9. Dear Dr. Berg can you do a video for women about life after menopause, as i am witnessing some serious issues with my mom, about her mood swings, her uncontrollable anger, she is loosing focus and gets angry about little things. She acts anxiously over minor issues in a bad way. What should i do about her well being?

  10. Yes! The only way I have been able to loose weight has been multi-day fasting. Intermittent fasting 20-24 hours per day has not been working. I'm going to start some resistance training. Thank you

  11. I hit menopause at 45. Was a major life upset. Had no medicine or bio identicals. I went from an attractive, happy, size 4 to an alien body and mind. It's been a huge struggle. No exercise or diet change helped. Weight kept piling on. Hypothyroidism and severe adrenal fatigue ensued. I am now 52, on ketogenic diet 6 weeks and holding steady at 12 lb. lost. It is very frustrating to lose slowly, but man am I grateful to see the scale Finally move in the opposite direction!
I am teaching myself patience. Perseverance will help me reach my goals. I hope 😉
    Thank You Dr. Berg.
I follow 50-60 gram of protein
20 gram or less of carb
The rest of my tdee calories from fat.
Right around 1500 calories a day.
Exercise is still brutal on me. I have to keep it short distance or I'll crash my adrenals. So short walks or bike rides, occasionally. This has been the most difficult aspect besides weight gain for me. I was always super energetic, active, athletic and my endurance unstoppable. Naturally.
Now I exhaust easily. On my feet too long = cramped feet, screaming, swollen knees and lumbar back pain and swelling in my abdomen. It's maddening!
I take epsom salt baths to ease discomfort. Am tuning into loving my liver. Yet, electrolytes, especially potassium is hard to match. But, I drink Sole water each morning, eat LITE salt throughout the day, drink Natural Calm 1/2 tsp. and take magnesium glycinate at night. Plus, Vit. C, Vit. D, Omega 3's, Zinc, Niacin, Nettle infusions, and lots of tea & water. I track everything through My Fitness Pal.
What more can I do? Rebounding? Swimming? Kayaking? I am in sunny FL. Weather is just getting nice again.
