TO "JADE" ON 8/12:
I was in Ava I believe when you mention of your horrible experience, you were the customer in front of me in line, I believe the staff had every reason to act as they did when you said "this coffee taste like *%&*, nothing like Starbucks..." They offered to re-do it for you and you said the same thing about your second drink. If I was the barista or staff I would have politely told you to shut up and get off the property, then again I'm a matter-of-fact kinda guy...
Personally I love Ava, they always get my orders perfect, everything is fresh, clean, and the staff is supurbly polite!

Overall I love Ava's. We live in the area and its wonderful to walk with our little girl to the coffee shop and sit outside on the patio. The coffee is pretty good and the sandwiches are great. The only thing I really don't like are the pastries. I've tried most if not all and they really are just lacking. If the pastries were improved Ava's would almost have it all :)

My husband and I stumbled upon Ava's tonight after a rare walk through downtown Beaverton. We sat outside by the firepit and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance, drinks, desserts, sound of running water, and great music. What a refreshing discovery in the middle of "old" Beaverton. We're already planning to bring our 2 year old in for lunch so he can play on the wonderful patio and splash his fingers in the little river. Thanks Ava!

I love this place. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. I like it better than Starbucks (and I love Starbucks). Free wi-fi makes it perfect for quick client meetings and of course the coffee is wonderful.

The drip is so-so. I find the service to be subpar, and can be a bit loud and disruptive. I go about once to two times a week for hours at a time and nobody seems to remember who I am. Odd since I'm 6'5" and wear an eye patch. The place is mostly clean. Sometimes the tables are dirty but I think it is because the tables are quickly occupied when someone leave they may not have a chance to wipe them down between customers.
The good news is it is still a great place to work; there are many tables and delightful decorations. Bathrooms are great! Patrons are friendly and willing to share space when it becomes crowded. Beautiful outside seating when the weather is nice. Temp is kept comfortable inside.

Since July 2006, Ava has improved everything! The pastries are fresh every day and the coffee is dark and roasted locally. I like the casual service and it's always clean there...which is a hell of alot better than most coffeeshops that aren't a chain. Ask for the Belgium chocolate mocha.

The baristas got my order wrong twice, mocked me loudly in front of other customers for my order (I could hear them from across the shop), then told me I should "go to Starbucks" if I was going to be so particular. When I asked to speak to the owner, they refused to give me a phone number or a full name. Now, I'm no big fan of Starbucks... but at least they don't go out of their way to insult their customers. Ava is now my least favorite coffee shop in the Portland/Beaverton area.

This is a great place to check your e-mail, relax and maybe catch up on a little of that office work that you've been trying to forget about. Ava Roasteria is definitely worth the visit. It's sleek interior, comfortable atmosphere and spacious seating make it a good find. However, the wireless signal is not always reliable and speed is not as fast as the nearby Beaverton public library. But, this place is open 24-hours!

Wow, what a find! A 24-hour coffee house in Beaverton with free wi-fi! This is a very spacious and unique-looking coffee house in downtown Beaverton. I've been here twice so far, and I'll definitely be coming back.
