The Apple Store has a publicly accessible theatre area, (into store, up stairs, straight to back of store) where you can plug in your laptop, (free power) and use their free wifi network. They use the theatre area to show case Apple software and other stuff, so it's not dead quiet, but it's still pretty easy to work and surf, and of course it is free. I'm not sure what the download/upload speeds are but it seems fairly fast, especially in the mornings before lunchtime. It you want extra style points, use a Mac!
