The kind of funky little independent coffee place that it's good to know still exists (unless you happen to be a big fan of the Starbucks-izing of what we once called coffeehouses). Befitting the bohemian, San Francisco-ish vibe of the place, you'll be served by a very laid-back and friendly person with at least a few tatts and/or piercings.
The ambient music is both a bit more rockin' than what you'll hear at Starbucks, and it's piped in a bit louder, which seems appropriate given the genre.
The only problem with the coffee fix is a big one - they don't let you use the electrical outlets. This was not always the case, but recently they put up signs politely explaining that their power bills had become too big for a scrappy little establishment like theirs to afford, hence they have to ask customers to not plug in. Understandable, but a significant bummer nonetheless.
I suppose if you either a) only need to do a few things on your machine, b) have insanely good battery life on your laptop, or c) are someone who carries around an extra fully charged battery, then The Coffee Fix is still a friendly, non-corporate hotspot. Unfortunately, the rest of us will most likely need to go elsewhere for our wi-fix (sorry, I couldn't resist).
The coffee and other types of drinks and treats may be a liiiittle on the expensive side, but I'd forgive that and
