  • DM on 03/09 Sez: This is the absolute BEST place to study during the weekdays in Pasadena that I have found. The WiFi is NOT free but the Ethernet IS FREE (bring your own cord & check under the desk.) There are a large number of workspace desk areas which have Ethernet plugs and also power underneath. The library is a technical library (it IS Caltech after all) but they also have lots of popular periodicals and even international daily newspapers on the Third (3rd) Floor. The only downside is that it's a University Library which means: no food or drink (although they seem moderately tolerant of water) and they kick non-Caltech peeps out after 5pm on weekdays and over weekends.
