  • ana on 11/17 Sez: I've been passing by this hookah place quite often and finally decided to give it a try last Saturday and I'm so glad I did. I was very impressed with the decor of this place as it had an almost understated elegance and the couches looked very comfortable. I have gone to many hookah places that looked seedy or dirty. We started off with the double apple hookah and their Turkish coffee. Wow, their coffee is great! It had an exotic flavor to it that was absolutely delicious. We also saw other tables get smoothies and baklava plates so we did as well. The mixed fruit smoothie had a great consistency (not too watery but not too thick either) with bits of fruit and wasn't overly sweet. The baklava plate was amazing plus it was only $5 and they give you a very good portion. Combine the sweetness of the baklava and the delicious bitterness of the coffee and it was perfection. Also, I'm not sure if this is something they do every weekend but they had live music and a belly dancer. Although it was an additional $10 cover fee to see them perform, it was definitely worth the ten. I had no idea what the hell the guy was singing but man, he was goooood. Combine that with the instruments (my favorite, the electric violin) and the sparkly sensual belly dancer, it was pure entertainment. Plus there was this one table of men that was literally "making it rain" on the belly dancer with dollar bills. I couldn't believe I was still in Chicago and the whole experience almost felt surreal. Now let's talk about the service. I fell in love with our adorable little server who was always smiling and kept coming around asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything else. To some it might have been to the point of annoyance but I loved it. She also dropped off free bottles of water without asking which was cool. Our coal guy came around four times to change our coals and blow out the ashes where in some hookah places; you have to chase down the guy to get it changed. FYI, it's also $5 BYOB if you want to drinky drinky. I can't wait to take all my friends here and this is definitely my new hookah spot going forward.
