Hi folks,
I'm Krakow's co-owner. Thank you for the helpful comments. In the last few weeks, we've been able to bring in more art, bookcases, flower baskets, New York Times sub, and are really moved in.
We'll debut regular weekly free low-key music with classical guitarist Michael Miller (an Eliot N'hood resident) from 6 to 7:30 pm, Friday, Sept. 12. Michael will be playing renaissance music as well as Vivaldi and Villa-Lobos.
My wife, Jane Hagan, and I, have lived here in NoPo for 16 years and want to immerse ourselves in shared activities with Beach, Trillium, Ockley Green, Humboldt, Chief Joseph and other schools.
If you have young children, you might enjoy our weekly 10 am, Friday story-telling hour by Montessori-trained teacher Ania Gniewosz, daughter of my partner, Chris.
Let us know what you think. My email is mkirchmeier@hotmail.com

Good job on the interior, bummer they went with Portland Roasting, they could have gone with a better local roaster. Maybe they got bad advice, or maybe it's not being made strong enough. Every time I've been in the place it has been nearly empty, makes me wonder if it's going to survive. Good job Mark, but who's running the coffee end of things??

Is it just me? Or does this place seem out of place for this part of the city? I don't think this place will be around in a year. Coffee is fair, but give me a different atmosphere anytime. Not where I'd buy my essential groceries either, but suppose if I were in a bind... Not necessarily trying to sell people on other local shops, but there are some better places to go and spend your money.

Cool to have a new shop in my hood, but I won't be going there. Too haughty taughty for me, reminds me a bit of Starbucks (YIKES!!!), feels like it won't be there forever. I agree with you Eastender, I've been there once & that's it for me. Also a lot of traffic on the road if you want to work outside.

A little too sterile for me, but it's ok to drop by for a cup of coffee now and then. Too expensive for me, like a grocery store/gift shop/with a coffee shop. Beautiful inside, but I'm a bit more casual and looking for the comfy setting vs. the formal office setting. Happy Neighbor, I've tried the pastries, and they are mega-fat calories good! Coffee nothing to write home about, but beats Denny's

I am so happy to have the Krakow Koffeehouse just three blocks from where I live. Mark K and his partner have done a fabulous job putting it together. Great coffe--they sell milk, wine, groceries, Father's Day cards (hand made), etc. Haven't tried the pastries or other food yet, but give me time! The only thing they could offer that I don't think they are, is gelato or ice cream. Check this place out!
