Best Carnitas – Mexican Pork for Tacos & Burritos

A Taco Truck favorite – Homemade Mexican-style Carnitas. Okay to use whole, untrimmed pork shoulder, but add a couple of hours of cooking time. And visit my cooking blog for recipe details. I also show you easy cooking shortcuts, too:

  1. You donโ€™t even hold a taco correctly. It should be folded over slightly in the middle, grabbed with three fingers so that 60 percent of the taco is cone shaped and in front of your fingers. Your pinky is loose. You do not make carnitas without lard. What you made is braised pork shoulder.

  2. Part of me disliked this video, but it was also one of the most engaging and relaxing recipe videos I've ever seen ๐Ÿ™‚ The stop motion really works!

  3. Looks really good but does it come out sweet??? hmm just wondering, cause the orange juice & coke. Thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I love this style of instructional video. It is clear cut, precise, to the point…..none of the rambling like many other recipe videos.

  5. I'm sorry dude but that is not carnitas. That is boiled pork. Carnitas is simmered in lard until it's falling apart and tender. Cooked in fat not boiled in water.

  6. Excellent video presentation. To the point and easy to follow directions. I'll give it a try this weekend. Muchas gracias.

  7. omg…Love the special effects and easy to follow instructions. I just subscribed to your channel…I'm a fan. Making carnitas for dinner tonight…wish me luck
