Slow Cooker Taco Meat | Large Family Recipes

101

I have mentioned many times in my videos over the past couple of years that I make my taco meat in the slow cooker. Today, I will be showing you how I prepare my meat, why I do it this way, and how we use this meat in several different ways.

I’ve told you before that I usually make one big recipe for the weekends, and we eat off of that for the entire weekend. This taco meat is perfect for that. You can use hard shells, soft shells; you can make taco salad, or nachos. There are just so many ways to use this meat without feeling like you’re eating the same thing over and over. So if your family doesn’t usually care for leftovers, this might be a good recipe for you to try. Here’s the free printable version http://wp.me/p4U6KV-onM

  1. I love sometimes to put the hard shell inside a soft shell for a double decker…usually put some refried beans in between the shells first but it's oh so good..love your recipes, it helps so much with our family of 10 also.

  2. I've never used the slow cooker for beef taco meat. However my family LOVES when I do chicken or pork taco meat. I take my meat and add it then I do 1-2 cans of diced tomatoes, taco seasoning, a can of corn (with juices). Then I just let it cook. When it's done I shred it up, add a couple cans of drained and rinsed beans (for additional protein and bulk) and adjust seasoning if need be. Then I'll let it cook for another hour or so and then it's done. We eat this on anything from fritos (taco haystacks) to burritos and yes regular tacos. My favorite is with a corn tortilla, cream cheese (you can do SC but CC taste better) with some lettuse, avo, and cilantro. Yummo!

  3. In case nobody else told you: Jamerrill you are an absolute wizard! No joke woman you get it done!!! Mad respect for you 🙂

  4. I eat mainly plant based-but I have been struggling as beans/peas, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, broccoli give me and my almost 3 wk old bad gas-anyone else find this?

  5. For grease we have a plastic container with a lid. We pour it in, put in in the freezer it and dump more on top all week. Then on trash day we push it out into the garbage bag we are taking to the curb.

  6. Jamerrill, thank you so much for being you. You've inspired me beyond words. I don't know why because like you always say, 'I'm just a momma!', but you have seriously encouraged me in my life. One day I hope I can be HALF the mother you are, I digress. Thank you so much for helping me out of a depression, helping me get my life on track, and overall encouraging me. You are so lovely!

  7. take a bowl, line with tin foil, dump grease in and let sit. this will added then u can wrap foil around grease and throw away. saves you from scraping
