Tacos al pastor – Mexican recipe video

Make authentic Mexican tacos in your own kitchen with this easy recipe: http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/32242/tacos-al-pastor.aspx

Tacos are a perennial favourite and fun party food. Impress guests with an authentic and classic Mexican dish, tacos al pastor. ‘Al pastor’ means ‘in the style of the shepherd’, yet this recipe is always made of pork.

Pork is marinated in a flavourful puree of chillies, orange juice, pineapple, onion and spices. It’s cooked on a griddle pan before being served with griddled pineapple in soft corn tortillas.

If you can’t find the special chillies called for in this recipe, shop online at a site like Mexgrocer.co.uk, and you’ll be rewarded. In a pinch, use a mix of dried red chillies and mild dried red Spanish peppers.

  1. My son is making these for us for dinner tonight; I've had them in a restaurant; but they called them "street tacos" Either way, these look sooooo good. Can't wait for dinner. BTW, we are Cajuns from South Louisiana; but we love Mexican food too.

  2. I marinated mine for about 5 hours before touching them again, but it seems like the pork did not really absorb any of the marinade… Any ideas? ¡Gracias!

  3. I made this yesterday for a party and everybody loved it. I prefer grilling them but I also cook them in a pan but I first chop them into small pieces .. both yummy. thank you. I will surely make this again.
