  • Peter Silver on 01/19 Sez: This place is a real gem! The location has always had so much potential, and, thanks to a change in ownership/management about a year or so ago, this place has really taken off. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere, smoker friendly outdoor seating, good food and at night the music can be pure magic. I do have one concern, though. For some reason, the charming Parisian outdoor tables and chairs were recently replaced with big wooden booths Ever since I've noticed the vibe of the place start to change. It has lost the vibrant European feel that made Papa Toby's so special. Sadly, it's now become rather cramped and uncomfortable. For example, I recently brought a group of out of town guests to experience some Revolution Friday night music. We sat in one of the corner booths. After one round of drinks we all decided to leave - the seats were hard, we were all crushed together, and my friend's head had been backed up against the outside utility meter. If the owner(s) of my favorite cafe read these reviews I ask please, please, please reconsider your change in seating!! I love what you've done with this place, and I hate to see it lose it's unique charm!
